NaNoWriMo 2010

Good luck, writers!

Good luck to this year’s NaNoWriMo participants! This is my first year chained to my desk for the month of November, but I could not be more excited to begin. After weeks of tedious preparation and research, I have patched together an outline that is beating fervently with potential.

My Goal

The mark is sweetly simple, yet dauntingly deadly for even the most def writer. 50,000 words is more a quest than a goal. It tempts the artist with challenge and renewal. The clean slate offers a landing on which we can escape our failed projects. On November 1st, we leave behind fear and procrastination and step into exertion.

I am giving myself the task of writing 2,000 words per day. Because I am armed with two notebooks filled with background and research, and have an outline, I feel this is humble, attainable.

Purpose Beyond Words

Ultimately, it is the motivation I am after. The push. I want every day to be another rung on the ladder. The work with continue on through December and 2011. The rewrites will be brutal. But the pursuit will already be long underway.

I keep telling myself that 2000 words is totally achievable. But I am beginning to fear that 5 days in I am going to pull all my hair out in a fury that has not bounds.

  2. I’m adding you! I’m NightPoet00 on the forums.
